Training of Teachers on Civic Representation-Armenia

On 29-31 August training of teachers on civic representation took place in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia. 60 teachers from capital as well as from rural areas of Armenia participated in the training. The teachers learned on various types of civic representation/participation, to once again reflect on the democratic values, principles and standards, as well as had the opportunity to practice those values and principles through interactive exercises full of challenging situations. The selected methodology was to support better introduction to students of the topics of the school curriculum, with application of contemporary interactive methods.

This methodology suggested an alternative to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for the democratic values the students should carry. The interactive exercises ensured mobility of the group and provided more space for interactive and open communication. They also helped to experience various roles and understand how it feels in the very specific situations, before practicing similar exercises with the students.
